Having driven consistently well all season, twenty-one-year-old Jack Leese put in another solid performance at Brands Hatch to achieve 5 th place in the Championship and top placed novice.
This result was particularly sweet for Jack as it marked the return to success after having a challenging couple of years following a crash during a rallying championship which he was leading. After breaking his leg and back, he had to take a break from the sport and work hard to get his fitness back.
Jack’s love for motorsport started at the tender age of 7 when he received his first kart. Jack won Bernie Ecclestone’s driver of the day whilst competing in the Nationals and spent the weekend as a guest of McLaren, meeting his heroes.
With other successes in karting, Jack was the British Junior Grand Prix winner in Rallycross. Jack had five podium places including wins out of his first eight senior rallies until his hundred mile an hour crash into a tree!
Jack Leese commented, “I am determined to make a career out of motorsport. I would like to thank a number of people who have helped me over the last 15 years including my mum and dad, Richard Peek, David Higgins and my mentor Rob Wilson. Andy Woodward of WMD Motorsport worked hard to provide a super reliable car and a thumbs up to Dave and Jake at Motion Motorsport.”
Jack looks forward to getting his Trophy from the 750 Motor club. This was an excellent first season in cars. Jack is in a rare club getting success and wins in Karts, Rallycross, Rallying and now circuit racing….a rare club!
