IG CloudOps welcomed Pedro, one of the Portuguese development team, last week, to work alongside the UK based team. As Pedro is an avid climber, it was decided to take the team to the Boardroom climbing experience in Queensferry.

Sadly, on the 7th April Moria Rastall, a fondly remembered member of the igroup team, passed away. Moria helped in the early years of igroup’s history as our company secretary, retiring in 2008. She was a positive and bubbly personality to be around and our condolences go out her friends and family.
Last weekend saw the third of the BTRDA Rally Series in which Jack Leese, from igroup’s marketing team, took part in. The event took place in mid-Wales at the picturesque Royal Welsh Showground and was well attended.
One of our marketing team’s core members, Jack Leese, a keen motor sport enthusiast who partakes in rallying during his spare time was recently rewarded with a sponsored trip to PalmerSport on the 25th November for increasing leads by 18% and smashing his target in the process.
Microsoft Azure cloud has been one of the most ground breaking advances the corporation has innovated in the last 10 years. The new generation of IoT solutions is expected to mould consumer behaviour, due to the integration of user friendly technology that unites everyday devices like cars, fridges, speakers and CCTV. Even data handling within traditional, heavy industries like automotive, agriculture and water processing are being disrupted as established technologies merge with cloud and IoT applications to harness the power of automation and machine learning within their core processes. Azure IoT also drastically reduces response time in mission critical scenarios. By having a closed loop of processing power around a “real world” device, customers are also reducing costs by choosing what data needs to be sent to the cloud.
Microsoft have announced that they have opened a number of UK Azure Data Centres which allow them to provide public cloud services including Office 365 to industries such as banking and local government where data needs to be hosted in the UK.
