What's been happening at IG CloudOps in September?

Written by Dan Jones (Product Sales Lead) | 17-Oct-2022 13:19:02

September has been a busy month for us here at IG CloudOps! We've been working hard on a number of projects, both big and small.

As you can imagine with what's been going on internationally and domestically there has been a focus on cost and cost efficiency. As well as setting out goals for the run-up to Christmas.

Here's a quick rundown of what we've been up to:

  • Creation of new VMs and associated cloud infrastructure for clients. This was both migration and extending existing environments.
  • Kubernetes use and implementation advice. With the launch of our integrated Kubernetes management, we have been talking to our customers about how that can be rolled out to their Kubernetes instances
  • Cost audits and recommendations - a bit of a theme for coming into Q4 2022 driving down cloud costs and balancing performance
  • VM outage caught by Monitoring - Decided with the client that no action was taken in this case.
  • Auto Patching failed for VM. Sent build log to the client for further diagnosis.
  • Reviewed 3rd party security scan and offered advice on tightening security to Application.
  • Security Audit - Removed older TLS versions from Web Servers increasing security.
  • Installed AV/Scanning Software on VMs.
  • Config changes made to clients' web servers following PCI Scan which identified areas to be improved.
  • Advice on best ways to use S3 buckets in AWS.

As you can see, we've been keeping busy!

We are looking forward to continuing to work on exciting projects in the month ahead. As always, if you need any assistance with your cloud infrastructure or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! support@igcloudops.com
