SaaS, PaaS, IaaS expertise in AWS

IG CloudOps has been providing managed cloud services for customers since 2010, with an increased focus on AWS since 2015 and has seen the cloud change quite considerably.

We were one of the first companies globally to host and support SharePoint for customers in the public cloud and today support and manage environments across multiple Azure regions/data centres for our customers.

Over more than 10 years, we have learnt a thing or two about managing the infrastructure on AWS which allows us to provide a stable cost environment and optimised performance.

We have helped many independent software vendors move their application over to a SaaS distribution model through both architecture consultancy and hosting services giving us a great deal of insight into the unique requirements that such organisations have compared to companies who have more straightforward cloud needs such as creating a data archiving system or want to virtualise the environment used by more common enterprise productivity systems.

Acronym  Title  Description
SaaS  Software as a Service SaaS is pure software which is hosted for you in the cloud for which you can consume either directly as an end user or API for a bespoke application. Typically, these are APIs which can be consumed by your own software such as Cortana APIs.
PaaS  Platform as a Service PaaS are platforms which are hosted for you in the cloud for you to consume. However, some management of the platform is performed by you such as backups or deployments. Websites and SQL Azure are examples of PaaS in the cloud.
IaaS  Infrastructure as a Service IaaS is infrastructure components which you can create and manage which allows you to build and manage your own infrastructure on top of the cloud for your hosting needs. Typical examples of IaaS are Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks.

Our expertise

The IG CloudOps team support customers who offer software as a service.  These include automated business analytics, charities, recycling waste, manufacturing software, hosting companies, and marketing agencies to name a few.

A SaaS model is attractive to businesses because it enables them to utilise software without the need for underlying physical/virtual infrastructure and services for them to manage and maintain and is paid for as a subscription or by a PAYG model based on usage.

Our team of AWS Experts evaluate each situation individually to consider the application itself, storage, costs, scaling requirements, etc in order to provide the best route to move a service to the cloud using PaaS, SaaS, and IaaS in Amazon’s cloud to deliver a resilient environment suited to your business.

Following a move to the cloud, as your AWS partner, we’ll continue to support and optimise the environment with a focus on helping clients to avoid increases in costs.
