What You Actually Need for MS Azure Support for Your Company

When it comes to Microsoft Azure support, a lot of businesses feel like they need to do more than they actually do in order to be successful. This is not the case!

In fact, there are only a few things that you need in order to support Azure for your company. In this blog post, we will discuss what those things are and how you can get started today.

First and foremost, you need to have a plan. This may seem obvious, but it is important to have a clear understanding of what your goals are for MS Azure support before you get started looking for a solution.

It should be made clear that we are not talking about first-line support here ie. not what's needed to support your users on your Azure systems. We are focusing on what you need to make sure that your Azure infrastructure is supported effectively.

I would suggest that you need an Azure support solution that includes the following:

  • Cost analysis & optimisation: This should include not just telling you what you are spending to avoid surprises, but recommendations to save money on your Azure bill. Alerts when you reach pre-set spend limits.
  • Monitoring: Monitoring the health of your Azure deployments, security monitoring, performance monitoring etc...
  • Auditing and risk registers: Flagging and tracking of issues so they can be reviewed and resolved
  • Expert Azure Support: Access to Azure experts on demand to help you plan, architect, and support your Azure footprint

We have developed CloudOps to help automate Azure support and we provide the add-on services like support and advisory sessions to have that expert input when you need it. However, with cloud management software you can automate most of your support away and then your in-house team can move away from firefighting and back to providing value to the business and your customers.
